What's in a name?

After many years of living, growing up and growing older in Sonoma County, I followed in my father’s footsteps by attending the “police academy” at Santa Rosa Junior College. I graduated from the 153rd Basic Law Enforcement Course in 2006 and started work in law enforcement. Twelve years of immersion in criminal law and procedure resulted in a skill set where I excelled at courtroom testimony, union contract negotiations, field training, in-field evidence collection and preservation, blood spatter pattern interpretation, all manners of SWAT actions, after-action reporting,  logistical emergency response planning, as well as the politics involved in it all.

In 2018, I moved to the private sector, working under experienced Private Investigator Jim Baker of J. Baker and Associates. Mr. Baker guided me through the transition to civilian investigations, mentoring me and allowing me to expand my role and take on new responsibilities. After many victories for multiple attorneys (and their grateful clients), Mr. Baker took a leave from the profession, telling me, “They’re in good hands, junior.”

So why "Baker Street" Investigations ?

In the literary works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mr. Sherlock Holmes referred to himself as a "consulting detective" and demonstrated his proficiency with observation, forensics, and logic while investigating criminal and civil cases. His office address, where the Sherlock Holmes saga began? 221B Baker Street. It was only too fitting that I name my business with a nod to the most famous consulting detective of all time and my friend and mentor, Jim Baker, without whom I would not have had the opportunity to travel this road ... or Street.
